  1. Seems odd that Sunwayfoto does not offer one for the XT2 with VPB battery grip, since they have them for Canon and Nikon models. I have been retrofitting my old RRS brackets acquired years ago for the Canon 10D. Doing this served me well, through various bodies up through the 5D2, when I switched to Fuji. I took two old plates to a machine shop and they made a great L Bracket for my X100S. Now with the XT2, I did find a no- name universal on AMAZON that after some drilling and grinding fit, the XT2 without the battery grip quite well. It will fit the XT2 with the VPB battery grip but is far from ideal. Unless I can find or think of another option, I may go for the Kirk version.
  2. FUJIGliltch-Great job, thanks for sharing! What adhesive did you use?
  3. Update: Today I picked up the X-T1 body with the new skin, door and 4-way controller replaced for a total of $48. Looks brand new and the door is nice and flat. I suppose I could have complained to Fugi or asked for the manager before agreeing to the repair price, i think they gave me a break on the labor though because the skin and door were only $20. I choose to have the 4-way controller replaced but they told me upfront that in their opinion the difference was minimal and now that I have it: I agree. They really should have raised the 'touch buttons' a bit more. Actually I brought some SUGRU from the U.S to build up the buttons myself, but even though I kept it in my dry cabinet, the stuff was rock hard when I opened the package. I am very mechanically inclined, I make a lot of my own accessories, camera straps, flash modifiers, flash arms, etc. So that and along with my dental background, it looked to me that the metal is too flat where it meets the rubber. If they would create a 'dovetail undercut' where the rubber meets the metal, it would create a 'mechanical lock' and that alone would really help prevent the rubber from peeling away from the body. What they did comes with a 3 month warranty. As others have said, it is a mystery, I have thirty year old bodies and they never did anything like that.
  4. Second time for the rubber on my X-T1 peeling. The door is bulging too. I tried to find the two adhesives mentioned but could not locate them so I tried another adhesive that did not hold. I don't recommend anyone trying this unless you have good hands. I used my dental instruments to control and keeping the glue where it belonged. The first time this happened, Fugi replaced the skin under warranty. This time they said it will cost $24 for a new skin and a new door. I asked if they had an improved 4-way controller too. They said they do have one for $24 but their opinion was that the improvement was minimal. I asked to see a camera with the new controller and it felt only slightly more tactile to the feel of it. All said, I left the camera for a week to have the new skin, door and 4-way controller replaced for a total of $48. I live in Thailand and the weather here will destroy anything rubber or plastic. I keep my lenses in a dry cabinet to prevent mold. When I tried to do the repair myself I noticed a design flaw where the rubber meets the metal. If they changed that small problem, the rubber would not separate so easily. Not worth explaining it as most, unless they were machanically inclined or a machinist, would not under stand. That said, I have been using SLR's and DSLR's since 1967, many Canon bodies and the Fugi is the only camera where I have had this rubber separation / bulging door issue. I also have the X100S too. Happy to have them fix it all for very little money.
