Besides size, the other main issue that makes previous cases incompatible is the location of the threaded insert on the bottom of the camera. On the X100V, it's near center, but due to the placement of the IBIS, the x100vi's threaded insert is much more 'forward' (closer to the lens). That should make cases that attach to the the camera there completely incompatible. I've based this from the cut-away images comparing the two camera's internal designs.
