  1. Okay, the funny thing is I expected it to be on par if not better in sharpness and contrast than my xf16 considering the charts posted on Fuji and what the forums say about the XF16. However, these are my findings (all compared at 100% scale): Sharpness: At an aperture of 2.8 (and almost f2 as well) the Xf 16 f1.4 is sharper than the XF50-140 at the three focal ranges I tested (50, 90 and 140) across all remaining apertures (albeit not by much in the centre). I also expected the XF 50-140 to be better from centre to corners, however, the 16mm was more consistent in this regard when stopped down to 2.8 (and even f2). Contrast: The 16 at f2 beats out the 50-140 at f4; but beyond that, the 50-140 has more contrast than the 16. CA: XF50-140 handles it better across the board. CA in XF16 clears up at about f5.6. Diffraction: Both are still good up to f11 (on my 40mp sensor); albeit the XF50-140 is a little cleaner at this aperture.
  2. One other thing, I noticed my xf56 was decentered as well.. is this an expensive repair?
  3. I purchased a used XF50-140 and I have been using it for a few months now.. but I have always thought it to be soft compared to my other lenses. Yesterday I printed 4 image resolution charts to spread out the field, and photographed it at various apertures at three focal ranges (50, 90 and 140), as well as testing it against my 56 WR, 33 1.4, and 16 1.4. It is noticeably softer than all of them and doesn't seem to crisp up at 5.6 or 8. I am shooting it with my X-H2. What could be the issue? I am thinking of sending it off to Fuji for assessment and repair, but I fear it will run me several hundred dollars (Canadian)... should have could have purchased new, but didn't. The good news is the hood fits perfectly, and there is not wobble on my lens mount or tripod foot. Unfortunately it is not performing well at its primary purpose: Image quality. I'm not sure how to share my large raw files.
  4. Also, after seeing that it didn’t work on the MacBook, I tried it on my Pc and it worked.
  5. Hello All, I am new to apple computers. I just purchased a MacBook m3 pro, and I have an x-h2 that I have connected to my windows computer to transfer files on numerous occasions. the issue, my x-h2 does not connect to my MacBook at all. How do I resolve this?
  6. Hello All, I currently own an X-S10 and I am underwhelmed with the autofocus, battery life, and buffer (when shooting raw). I do, however, love the form factor, and controls. lenses I own are (I am quite content with the coverage I have with my lenses; and do not intend on expanding) Xf 70-300 Xf 1.4x teleconverter Xf 18-55 Xf 90 Xf 56 (last gen) Xf 33 Xf 16 1.4 I pretty much only shoot stills, and I do tend to use higher ISO semi frequently at family events, and in capturing family memories (never higher than 6400). Camera is mostly used for capturing family memories, portraits, family events, and wildlife, and landscape. I also love shooting abstract photography. I do not shoot professionally, however, I may consider dabbling in it in the future. With the current X-H2 sale, there is only a 500 difference between the X-H2 and X-S20. Is there a noticeable difference in the autofocus between the two cameras (with respect to photography)? From YouTube videos that I’ve seen, I really like the smoother ISO grain from the 40 mp sensor when scaled similarly… but would I be losing anything by going to that size of a sensor vs the 26mp sensor with the improved computing hardware? Also, in considering defraction and the more pixel dense 40mp sensor of the x-h2, would any photo taken at aperatures between f8 and f11 on any of my lenses resolve worse on the x-h2’s 40 mp sensor than it would on the x-s20’s 26mp sensor if both images were scaled the same? with respect to buffer, I do not intend on shooting beyond 10 fps, as I am happy with this burst rate. So I don’t need ultimate speed, I’d just like reliable speed. in other words, if were to already spend $2050 on the x-s20, given what I have shared, should I just pony up the extra 500 for the x-h2? Or is the change in performance from the x-s10 still not enough to justify purchasing this generation, which would mean waiting for the next generation. I would be keeping the x-s10 as a backup camera and a camera to teach my daughters photography on as I can’t justify loosing so much on its used sale price given my remote location. Thank you for your time.
