  1. You'll get it for free, so what's to steal? This firmware thing can be better compared to a mum whom put the candy's in the cupboard but had forgotten to close the door. You just happen to have seen that and took them a little early to eat. Mum should just have been a little more careful.
  2. Just saw on Facebook that even some famous Fuji Ambassadors have installed the (beta) firmware. "The AF-Fairy (that's the sister of the Tooth Fairy) brought me the Fuji FW upgrade a little early. All I can say is... it's Bloody Brilliant! Kudos to Fujifilm for keeping improving on cameras that were already very capable to begin with. And for doing so for free!" quote: P.vd.E
  3. Do you really think Fuji UK would have said something else? That they would encourage you to download it? Its not official, so of course this is their message and official response. The only response Fuji can give is telling people its still beta, even though they know its a big lie. One week before official launch and still 'beta' is very unlikely. Especially knowing that reviewers, bloggers, and special photographers with some influence get these kind of releases plenty of time before the official launch so they can prepare their articles for online publication... Somebody spoiled the Fuji party and they are not pleased with it.
  4. I have installed it, and haven't found any bugs so far. Feels final, works as a final. I have no doubts this is it.
  5. This is not beta - It is the final thing. If it were beta they absolutely can't test it and release another version with a new test before next week. 5 working days is a very short time to test 'beta' software and then release it to the general public. Also remember that these things are pretty broadly shared amongst journalists, and camera websites like DPReview that need to review it before its released. A broad range of photographers, people who write books and need to incorporate how this new AF works into their e-books. A lot of people are under an NDA and are involved in releasing such large update. If its beta and they need to pull it this late, then it can't be released next week and people wouldn't see it for a long time to come. A little like we have seen with the LR plugin. I am convinced that this is the real thing and probably the 'goldmaster'. I do believe Fuji is either not pleased about this leak, or they have leaked it purposely due to the announcements the new firmware update that the A6000 has gotten in combination wit all the hype around Sony's new A7r II.
