  1. Bob, I can't say about your ears! Mines are fine. I have no other fuji lens, and had shot manual (macro) with my XT1, and the 2 AF lenses I have and use on a nikon d300s make noise only when they focus, and are far more discrete than the fuji 50-140mm (focusing noise on the fuji is virtually silent or covered by the idle noise). So, having been used to silent lenses, the noise of the fuji was disorienting to say the least. I have also read that some 50-140mm lenses are noisier than others, maybe mine is. I hear it clearly in a quite room 1m/3ft away from the lens (knowing its there, if I entered the room not knowing there's a noisy lens .. who knows if I'd hear it, but I'm pretty certain I would notice a noise). In any case, I'd like to thank you for making the balance tilt toward not making it a problem, because I was beginning to regret the purchase (especially given the shop refused to take the lens back, only 3 days after the purchase and I had only put the lens on my camera to remove it immediately thinking there was a problem - few online searches revealed every 50-140mm makes noise). Nevertheless my original question still holds !
  2. Does any one know if Fuji plans to make updated versions of some of its existing lenses? This applies to lenses which would deserve some update, and I am thinking in particular about the 50-140mm with its perturbing hiss / hum / white noise at all time when the camera is on. A 50-140 mark II without or with a much reduced noise would be welcome.
