Thanks for response. Followed instructions in manual to the letter - for both bks.  Bkt1 always works a treat, Bkt2 accepts three simulations but only takes the first Sim set in Bkt2 when taking photos.

Will try your suggestions and let you know how I get on.

Have successfully used BKT1 to set 3 different colour film simulations. Now want to do the same with a combination of colour and BW simulations for BKT2. Total failure! 
Taking picture with BKT2 all I get is a single frame taken.

Any ideas as to why?

To answer my own question, Atomos Shinobi will work with the Fuji x100f. It seems that all such monitors suffer from the same ‘drawback’ if you see it as such: they only allow landscape viewing, if you turn your camera to portrait orientation the monitor viewfinder won’t flip to reflect it. But if you are happy with landscape, then they work fine.

Has anyone a recommendation for a field monitor to use with the x100f via the hdmi connector?

The fixed monitor on the camera is a constant frustration. Any experiences or advices would be very welcome. I am presuming a monitor will reflect everything on the camera monitor, e.g., the green horizontal line assistance etc. Something around 5 inch would be perfect and I’m only interested in still photography.
