  1. I was excited to take my XT-1 to NYC this spring, and in preparation bought an extra Fuji battery and two Watson batteries along with the dual plate Watson charger from B&H based on positive reviews there. The charger is fantastic, works off 12 volt DC or AC, and functions without power to show the charge state of a battery if you aren't sure. Moral of the story though, I left only one thing at home and that was my battery holder sleeve, with all but the Watson battery that happened to be in the camera. So for my whole trip I shot all day (carefully turning the camera off in between) on one third party battery, and never had an issue. Between the Watsons and the Fujis it does seem like I get 50 or so more shots out of the Fuji batteries (350-ish vs 400-ish seems typical) but for less than half the cost I'm ok with that.

It's changing quickly, but the Meatpacking District of NYC still shows its heritage as one of the oldest parts of the City, and better yet there are still a few operating butcher shops keeping the name current. Today upscale shopping and the High Line Park are here, as is the new location of the Whitney Museum.

The skyline of downtown Richmond, Virginia as seen from the banks of the James River atop the Manchester flood wall. Doubtless an image that could have been helped by a tripod, but sadly one wasn't available.
