On my Canon gear, I was always able to balance the ambient light with the flash in Aperture priority mode. The camera metered for the background and the flash for the foreground. Then I could adjust each at will using flash compensation.
But with the M400, no matter what I do it locks the shutter at 1/75 of a second and seems to ignore the ambient light and expose with flash only. This is making it impossible to get a nice subtle fill flash, which is exactly what I wanted the HSS for.
Anybody know how to balance ambient with flash with this camera/flash combo?
Thanks a Lot,
Ed
