You asked for a wishlist...?
Coming from the Sony A7 and as an Amateur, I do not really seek Full Format, it was just too hard to battle depth of field combined with an unreliable autofocus.
I produced some of the most beautiful shots, but still also missed too many moments of my children (and no, I do not want a classic DSLR .
So what would make me happy?
one
an innovative new sensor with maybe 24 MP, with
a further improved low light performance and also
b strongly improved autofocus esp. in low light
two
highly useable video performance,
ideally combined with
three
built-in sensor stabilization ala Olypus E-M5II (granted this is a hard one, but so worth extra money)
four
the auto-mode switch of the X-T10, but with
one full auto for my wife, and in addition one custom auto so one can easily get a snapshot when necessary
That would be it, really - for my needs.
A new sensor is overdue, and it should be one that really lets the qualiy of those wonderful lenses shine, please go and push for the limit!
Image stabilization is tricky, but not only is it very helpful for street photography - where video becomes important this adds sooo much to quality output!
And an investment into such a system should offer the full package, my small kids show me every time that pictures as art are wonderful, but also capturing emotions by video is so important.
It is hard to understand why an iPhone could eventually offer better output than a dedicated, expensive, professional and large device
