    I kept perusing the manual and figured it out. Somehow, I had changed the manual focus assist from Focus Peak to Digital Split Image. Sorry to waste everyone's time.

    Somehow this morning I managed to get a darkened square in the center of both the EVF and the back screen. What is this and how do I get rid of it.
