depends what you want..
the F2 has faster quieter AF, is WR, and has less vignetting but with barrel distortion
the 1.4 has no barrel distortion, a stop more light and more vignetting
wide open the 1.4 could be more sharp in corners... BUT this can make for a nicer image and pleasant rendering, which IMO is why people go a bit passionate about the 1.4
