  1. Thanks. I just installed Gimp today, will try rawtherapee as well. I read a short review for Gimp vs. Photoshop, of course they said photoshop is better, but I did not understand better as in workflow, features or better in actual image quality. I guess I am trying to ask is free software image will not look as nice as expensive photoshop image when editing same image on both software?
  2. The sony alpha mount lens I have does not have a manual mechanical aperature ring. So this means with the lensa adaptor it only works wide open at f2.8? I read you can adjust metering on camera but it is not same as f2.8 vs. smaller aperature? Just want to clear this up before I get the adaptor, was really hoping to use my tamron 90mm f2.8 I know some have used the older tamron 90mm with adaptall but mine is alpha mount.
  3. Hi, I was able to get fuji remote app on ipad working for both remote and receiving. The fuji app to receive photos only will not connect for some reason. My question is what security is in place when you turn the fuji's wifi on? So anyone near me can just as easily view where my camera is pointed with remote app on or then can download my photos? since it does not ask for any password, that is my concern.
  4. Hi, How often do you use the pop up for fill flash? I read some where it works really well. Do you usually add -1.0 comp? I know general rule is no flash but outdoor lighting is rarely ideal. Can you provide tips to using fill flash for outdoor portraits? Usually used when shooting people against sun? I normally shoot in Aperature mode. I'm very rusty and trying to recall things. x-t10 is on its way :-) Thanks
  5. I have been searching for a new 64 bit PC, build your own vs buying. I prefer to just wait it out for another few years. Video cards now faster or priced same as a PC is crazy in itself. Rarely using my 9 year old dell pc as it is. The ipad pro looks very ideal right now. I understand there are still limitations. Is it a quick and smooth workflow? transfer raw or jpg from fuji directly to ipad pro or use an external ssd. Then use lightroom for ipad? Hoping to hear from fuji owners here who's workflow is with the ipad or ipad pro. Ideally photos coming out of the fuji is great enough that only requires minor editing tweaks, yes? :-) Thanks!
  6. lol, I have the same logic here. I can clean the protective filter over and over without worries of scratching or affecting the front lens element. Ideal world, don't use it, fully understand this too...
  7. would you use a marumi dhg clear or dhg uv? still trying to search the differences, they seem similiar in price. it just says for digital cameras to use the clear version
  8. Hi, I'm paranoid with lens scratching or accidents, always used like a hoya super hmc uv filter or Marumi brand on my lens. I don't really know if fuji sensor or lens don't like extra glass on them. Issue or no issue? I know its age old of use or don't use. Just curious. The 18-55mm with 58mm diameter is quite large, not going to be a cheap one. If all goes well, will have a x-t10 in my hands fairly soon. Decided to wait it out on the x-t2.
  9. Hi, If you could only afford one piece of software for editing, which would you choose? Photo Ninja On1 Photo 10 Lightroom All 3 being under $150 My needs I think mainly towards editing jpgs, want something simple and fast to use for sharpen, contrasts, making images pop for the most part, thats where On1 looks like the way to go. On other hand, reviews showing Photo Ninja is much better for Raw conversion with Fuji. If you used both, which is has the simpler interface and quicker work flow? Also any Auto feature? I know some of you will shake your head but its to spend least amount of time behind the PC. Does one have more feature set than the other? Thanks
  10. Hi, What is the write delay or lag when using film bracketing in jpg mode? I dont have the camera yet. I'm curious if it's same as taking 2-3 shots at once. This feature would only be useful in situations where you have time to spare without missing the shot? I have no plans to shoot raw. OOC jpgs to save on PP time.

  12. exciting times ahead. I started with fuji s1, x10, fuji x100. looks like the xt2 could be the final camera...
  13. Thank you. There was a brief description in google search that the X-T2 body would be around $1500 Cad. I could not find any other info in regard to pricing. Would the X-T2 lose some features from X2Pro with lower price or they should be very similiar price wise? I understand its rumors but some may have better idea of details and pricing. I could wait till june for X-T2 although the X-T10 used prices now are very tempting.
  14. Hi, will there be new cameras for 2016 other than the x2pro? do you think Fuji will reserve the acros film simulations only for the x2pro? I was planning on the x-t10 but curious if there could be a newer model to the x-t10 with Acros or that could be years down the road? Their site mentions only new processor and new 24M sensor will work for Acros. They finally have B&W film simulations but sadly only for their flagship camera which not everyone needs. Thanks
