Hi, You can start using it in the Auto mode and start trying to understand the different modes of taking photographs: in different situations you will feel the need to use high shutter speeds (for fast-moving subjects) and use the Shutter-priority mode (S) and let the camera choose the aperture; in other occasions you might prefer to have a shallower depth of field (for portraits, or close-ups) and then prefer to use the Aperture-priority mode (A) and let the camera choose the shutter speed. Be patient and you will LOVE to have a nice jewel to play with!
