  1. Hi! I am having a problem with my Fuji X-E1 and was hoping someone on this forum might be able to help. Whenever I turn my camera on, it displays a message saying "card protected," even though the switch on my SD card is not in the locked position. I have tried this with several cards, but the problem persists. After some research, I suspect it has something to do with a contact that determines whether the switch on the SD card is in the locked or unlocked position. I tried cleaning the slot with an air dryer and a small brush, but this didn't help. The only "solution" that seems to work is to cover the switch with a piece of tape. This seems to push the mechanism down enough to make contact. However, I'm not happy with this solution, as I'm worried that the mechanism will eventually wear down even more, or that the tape will come off and leave glue in the slot. I am now thinking of cleaning out the card slot with electrical cleaner, but I'm afraid this might completely ruin my camera. Has anyone experienced and solved this problem, or does anyone know of a safe way to clean the contacts in the slot? Thanks in advance for any help! Max
