  1. I just traded-in another Fuji zoom for an XF8-16 which was rated by MPB as 'Like New'. The lens arrived promptly but was not super well packaged. The lens could move around in the included original box and the lens box itself was not super solid in the shipping box. This may mean nothing and there were no signs of damage to the outer box but . . . While doing some initial shooting with the lens, I found that the focus ring has a 'click' in it about 3x per full rotation. This feels kind of like a haptic click like you might get from an iPhone but is not as hard a click as, say, the aperture ring. The click occurs 3x per full rotation but they are not 120 degrees apart. In other words if you go around 360 degrees, you find that the 3rd click occurs at about 350 degrees. The focus seems to be working fine but none of my other Fuji lenses have ever done this and, unfortunately, this is one of those things that once it gets into your head it is hard to pretend you don't know it's there - this is spite of the fact that I will mostly be using AF. On a kind of related note - this lens, in spite of being a Red Badge, feels less premium than even the lowly kit zoom. Aside from the focus ring issue, the zoom is less well damped and has a little of the scratchy aluminum on aluminum sound to it like it needs some grease. Does any of this match up with anyone's experience with this lens? I am trying to decide if I want to send it back for another example. Thanks!
