Hi - I was shooting in mid-day recently and had a bright background and wanted to take a portrait shot. I had spot metering on (via Quick menu) and was going to use AE lock but no matter where I focused (on the face specifically) the exposure had a bright background and dark face. It was as if spot metering was not working. What might cause this?
