  1. I'm new to Fuji. I have the X-T5 with a 16-80mm lens. When I set it to Manual focus, the lens ring does absolutely nothing. I've gone through the settings, manual, watched video after video and I can't figure out why it's not working. Is there something else to do other than switch to Manual focus to get the ring to work? I must be missing something obvious. Thanks
  2. Hello, I recently picked up an X-T5 and wanted to Geotag photos. I've got the app, and after some amount of fiddling, it seems to be working - sometimes (although not all the time). I liked the idea of just getting a GPS Data Logger that was small, always on and I could throw in my pack or into my motorcycle so I could import the GPX later into Lightroom and tag all photos. But it seems in the past 2-3 years almost all of these devices have been discontinued. I'd rather not use the phone because this would just burn up the battery too fast in general and I'd always have to be fiddling with it - turning an app on manually all the time. But now I'm not sure of a good device option otherwise. Two questions - 1 - can I force the geo location from the X-T5 to update somehow? It holds the last position too long so the accuracy ends up being very much not helpful. If there WAS a way to force it to update then I could make this work. But 60 minutes later - I could be 75 miles away from that last tag. I also have an Apple Watch with the GPS ability that I haven't turned on. I wonder if I activated that and let the Apple Watch do the work vs. the iPhone if that would work somehow. Anyone done this? I see posts about a Garmin Fenix being used for this purpose. Thanks
  3. Hmm, I wonder if that can be set. I often roam the landscape on a motorcycle or car and need that to be more accurate. That could be the difference between a hundred miles or more. Even by foot hiking that would make things pretty inaccurate. I wonder if there's a button to force a sync? Thanks
  4. Yes that looks more what I see in the app. I took the camera out today and took several photos along a road, where we drove a bit, stopped, drove a bit more, stopped again etc.. I'm wondering how often the geo-tagging location updates because they all said the same GPS location even after I drove several miles up the road. Hmm, one more wrinkle to iron out... Thanks for all the feedback and help!
  5. Ah, it seems to be working suddenly now. I'm not sure why because I didn't change anything. I now see a little globe icon with a dart on it in my viewfinder. No blog post or video mentioned this but I think that means that the current Geo location has been obtained. I verified I did get a location in the EXIF data now on the last few photos. Why it wasn't working before is a bit of a mystery; I did delete everything (including the app) before once and re-set up two or three times. I started working after I went into that menu you mentioned Greybeard - but the setting was already on. I selected On anyway, so maybe that just woke it up somehow. Thanks for all the suggestions! I'm glad to see this working now. I still don't see the Geotagging option in the app like I posted above, but maybe that's just not a thing anymore, or with this app and the X-T5? As long as it works I'm good. Thank you!
  6. Also I keep seeing reference to this in the app. I don't see this in my app at all.
  7. Right now I'm just shooting straight JPG only - do I need to shoot RAW for this to work maybe?
  8. Oh wow, I've seen no one mention this one in any tutorial, video or post - thanks for mentioning it. It is on already though.
  9. Hi Everyone, Just picked up my first FujiFilm camera - X-T5. Loving it so far but can't for the life of me get Geotagging to work! What adds to my confusion is most web pages and videos refer to menus that are slightly different both on the phone and with the app. I have the "Cam Remote" app. Created a X-T5 profile in there, connected it to my camera. I see the Bluetooth symbol turn white when I turn my phone on/off, it always comes back and makes a connection. On the camera I see it's paired, Bluetooth On, Smartphone Location Sync is On also. I'm not sure what else to configure based on the many pages and videos I've watched - does anyone know what I am missing? Oh, I also changed the app on the iPhone to allow location services Anytime vs. Only When Using App. Thanks John
