Just back from Safari with my XT2 and XT5. This was with the XT5 and the XF 70-300 zoom. An incredible lens for the money. Sharp and very flexible along with being light weight to carry around. -
I've had my 18-55 lens for about 4 years and it now makes a very loud constant noise which seems to be focus and/or stabilzation motor. Question is - what makes these fail/what is a typical failure cause? I've been super careful with the lens and while I of course use it - it's been handled with care/never dropped, hit, etc. Frustrating and now it's a $350 repair on what was a $400 addition to the kit when I bought it.

I just updated my 18-55 zoom to v3.24 and now a very loud whine noise is present when the camera is on and at 18mm. Moving the zoom off 18mm reduces the noise but it does come back. Have any others experienced this? Thanks !
