Thanks..I've turned exp WB preview off

I could do with some advice.I was taking some portraits with xt3 and off camera Chinese Yongnue flash ie flash only lighting exposing for a dark room against black background. Is there a way in settings of preventing the viewfinder from almost doing black whilst taking the shot? Cheers Chris
