Has anyone tried using the USB cable to download photos from the camera via the USB cable on to a Linux laptop? My laptop does not see the sd cards.

I have set my images to save as RAW+Fine. My RAF files were corrupt, however my JPG files were okay. I usually download my cards using a card reader in my laptop. This is also the first time this has happened. Is there something I am doing wrong? The last time I downloaded my photographs, I did not format the SD cards. Could that be an issue?

I have had this happen to me twice. I was unable to change it back without doing a Reset. Does Is there any reason for this?

It's it possible to change, for instance, landscape photography settings to birds in flight settings with one button. Somewhat like what the movie/still button does. For example, I'm shooting a landscape and I notice a bird I would like to photograph in flight. If I spend a lot of time changing settings such as mechanical to electronic shutter, iso I might lose the moment.
