...are you doing portraits at 6400 and up?

 

Sorry, didn't try this. I don't have a lot of time left with it but maybe I'll take a picture of myself in the dark or something.

Ha-ha, no of course I don't shoot portraits at 6400. But sometimes I shoot people indoors without flash or outside in the evening. At f2.8 ISO can easily reach 6400 in these cases.

I have a question about skin waxing. It's a well known issue on X-T1, when shooting at ISO 6400 and above in JPEG, people's skin looks all smeared and blurry even on minimum NR setting.

I wonder if they fixed this in X-Pro2.

No noticable change in AF speed with 18mm F2 here. Still slow.

I would like to use JPEGs only on my X-T1. The quality is good enough for me. The only reason I don't is the stupid Film Simulation. Non of the "Films" is really neutral in a way Canon or Nikon jpegs are. I get the best, most consistent results using RAW and Adobe Standard profile.

I've just read this in the FW 4.0 description:

1) Improved Shutter Speed Dial operation
When the Shutter Speed Dial is set to T and the Shutter Type to Mechanical + Electronic, you can use the command dial to set a full range of exposure times from 30-1/32000sec.

Now, isn't this great? I think it's fantastic that we now have a choice to control the shutter speed with the top plate dial (retro style) or with the command dial (DSLR style)
Now for the complete happiness all we need is an ability to control aperture with the other command dial on lenses that don't have a fixed-stop aperture ring. I'm talking about 18-55 F2.8-4, 10-24 F4 etc. Aperture ring on these lenses doesn't have any markings or hard stops, so why not duplicate it's functionality with a command dial for a full DSLR-like control? 
Can we bring the message to Fuji to include command dial aperture control to the next FW update?

Instagram was created to share pictures taken with phones. Thats why you cant upload a photo from their website.

[Going to Europe - 14/2.8 vs 10-24/4?]

I would go for the 10-24. I travelled with this lens and there were many times when I was very glad I had that 24mm long end. Also, there was a couple of times, when 14mm just wouldn't be wide enough.

Another thing is OIS can be useful sometimes. When I travelled to Rome with my Nikon I was very very glad I had OIS, because I found myself shooting a lot handheld at night or in dark places (dungeons, churches, etc)

Very impressive shots. I want to try this too now. Did you just use a simple tripod for this?
