1522 Black Country Museum 066

Black Country Museum

The retired Blacksmith give live demonstration about the hand forged chains that were a notable product of the area.

I took this on a visit and was worried about the poor light while he was working at the back on the forge. hand making a large chain. Then he came to the front into a nice patch of light and click, I'd got him.

The tool he was resting his foot on is a large forge hammer that too 3 people to heft and use to make the very large ship chains.

Thanks Emmanouel. This image has had quite a few favorable comments on Flickr and also from my photography group.

To get the best out of my Fuji raw images I invariably push the clarity slider to 100% in Lightroom to give the image a bit of bite. It enable me to control how my mind saw the original scene and not the rather flat image from the camera.
