White Balance: System Wide vs. Custom Setting

Hello all,

I just purchased an XT3 and have a question. I couldn't find the exact answer I was looking for so thought I'd post it.

From the image quality>custom setting menu I can select a WB setting for each custom setting but in this case I cannot fine tune the Auto WB selection. To do this I have to jump back to the image quality>white balance menu and
fine tune my Auto AB here and then hop to the image quality>custom setting menu and select my newly adjusted Auto WB for Custom Setting 1.

My question is, can I fine tune my Auto WB within the image quality>custom setting menu and not in the image quality menu>white balance menu?

Currently, if I'm not mistaken, if I fine tune the Auto WB from the image quality>white balance menu it makes that the default Auto WB system wide. So if I want to set Custom 1 to a fine tuned Auto WB and Custom 2 to a factory default
default auto white WB, I can't. Am I wrong in this?

Thanks for your help!

If I correctly understand what you're saying, you're right.

The WB Shift applies to a particular WB setting. So there's one WB Shift for Auto WB, one for Tungsten WB, etc. If I recall correctly, the X-T3 permits three separate Custom WB settings, and each should have its own WB Shift.

The Custom Settings allow you to select the WB setting, which includes the WB Shift for that setting. WB Shift isn't separate.
