Wild Speculation: X-H2

The X-Pro3's unique design has me really excited for the X-H2.  FujiRumors near constant insistence that the X-H2 *might* not be coming in 2020 leads me to a few wild speculations:

They're going for something completely different with the X-H2, it seems obvious to just make an X-H1 with the updated X-Trans4/X-Processor4 tech, if that was the plan FR sources could be more definitive on release timeline than just "eh, maybe 2020, maybe not."

The uncertainty in my mind means they don't yet know the full design/tech of the camera.  Maybe they're going for a more video oriented body with a new layout we've not yet even considered (ala X-Pro3's radical redesign), maybe (finger's crossed) they're waiting for X-Trans5 or X-Processor5 tech to be ready and skipping the X-T3's video tech entirely to come out with a major video upgrade and not just an X-T3 with IBIS (lovely as that sounds).  It would make sense as their original goal with the X-H1 was to entice pro photographers to switch, however they screwed up because they used 2 year old tech in the process.  Why do the same thing with X-H2?  The X-Pro2 skipped the X-Trans2 sensor and was the first camera featuring the X-Trans3/X-ProcessorPro system and it was a massive success, still selling new units damn near 4 years later.

I know an X-T3 with IBIS/pro body sounds awesome but how much better would it be to have a totally unique new camera geared towards video the same way the X-Pro3 is geared towards Photography?

The only drawback I can see is we're probably looking at a late 2020/early 2021 release date in the best case scenario.  I say it's worth the wait.

Fuji has choices and they know it.

1. Discontinue the H line.

2. Fit it solidly between the T4 and the 50R/S.

IMHO it should be the most advanced mirrorless APSC camera on the market: 4K 120 fps, 50-100 fps stills shooting, eliminate eshutter disadvantages, modern memory cards, 5+mp EVF... Build the grip into the body aka the Nikon Dn bodies with the yet to be matched handling of the D3S. Announced together with the body should be a couple of upgraded lenses:  for me, 16-160 f/4 Pro grade; 100-600 f/5.6 Pro grade that is compatible with the current teleconverters. $7,500 for this combo would be spot on.

    • Looking more like the next Fuji camera we see will be an X-T50 but it is still a rumor and no specs have been published.
    • Hey guys, The shutter on/off button switch may be loose on mine. After turning camera on and pressing the shutter/holding close to the area, the camera will turn off and say 'sensor cleaning'. This doesn't happen if I'm shooting via touch screen at all. Everything else is functional. Anyone else experience this before? Would love a much cheaper fix since Fuji Canada just quoted me $700 CAD to fix it, and considering everything else is functional except that part I'm not even sure why MPMB Main Board parts is being replaced😕 I got no explanation from them either.
    • As far as I know the firmware is not country specific. Are you sure that the filename has not been changed ( I am told this can happen with mac os). That's the only thing I can think of.
    • My x-t5 does not exhibit the focusing switch behaviour as you report it, so that is very strange and indicative of a fault. It does not matter whether the flash is attached or not. Once you set the camera for your studio flash, say 1/250th at f5.6, the camera, which is showing you what you will get at that exposure without the flash, will show a black screen unless the ambient light is brighter than what you would typically get indoors. That is why, as Jerry says, you have to set preview exp/wb to off. I have set a button for this.
    • I connected to FRAME.IO a while back and it works fine, but the camera wouldn't connect to the internet all of a sudden today and would get stuck on the reset screen, including initializing and even switching USB Connection mode. Is anyone else experiencing the same thing?
