Nissin I40 Flash Firmware Update

Recommended Posts

Finally got around to getting my Nissin I40 flash firmware update.

It's being handled by a company called ExpoImaging now and the only cost to me was shipping it to them.

They pay for return shipping and had it back to me in 1 week.

See below and contact Lizzy for more info:

Click on ‘Firmware Update’  and you can see an image of the flash showing the blinking indicator lights.  If you click on ’Update History’, then you can see a list of the firmware updates and what they were for to determine if you actually NEED the firmware update.

The current firmware version for the Nissin i40-FJ is 18-9.

Our two locations are in California and Minnesota:

ExpoImaging, Inc.
121 Aviation Way
Watsonville, CA  95076
(831) 761-2040

Or

Bruce Michelsen
ExpoImaging
13310 Greenwich CT.
Apple Valley, MN 55124
952-255-8310

Please note that when shipping to the MN location, the zip code sometimes comes up as St. Paul.  If so this is fine because Bruce is in a suburb of St. Paul.

Please ship to the location closest to you.

Once your flash is received, it will be updated promptly and returned to you ASAP.

Please be sure to include the attached Repair and Service Order Form with your flash.  Please do not ship your flash with any batteries in it.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Best Regards,
Lizzy Vosseler

The i40 has the "hidden" HSS function in manual mode. If I remember well, I've read somewhere that with the update this function disappear.

With the latest update version 18-9 you get the HSS function back.
