Faster focus for child photography : change lens or change camera

I have a xe2s with 35mm f1.4 and need to acquire faster focus and much more reliable focus for child photography.

1. Will it suffice to change the lens to a 35mm f2, will it acquire face focus fast enough with an xe2s to photograph moving children?

2. If I change camera to either xe3, xt2 or xt20, will the 91 focus points of these models be enough to acquire focus?

In particular, all those focus points are set in a rectangle which doesn't entirely cover a face  when holding the camera vertically (the face usually falls outside this rectangle).

3. Are there any differences in autofocus between xe3, xt2 or xt20 ?

I have four grandkids.  from 8 months old, to 8 years old.  I use my XT2 with my 16-55 or my 50-140 2.8. They are a bit faster than the 35 1.4 (Which I also own and LOVE) but it's not for kids as the focusing is slow.  I also set the camera to a AF-C on the front button, and change the focusing to a zone instead of single point.  I've also used my 18-55, 23 1.4 to shoot the kids with really great results.  Let us know how you make out.
