*** Firmware request ***
Is the X-H1 really "Video oriented"? Not enough.
I would like to see in the MOVIE SETTING, an option where I can select the default shutter speed for the 30 and 60 on the shutter speed dial, only when I am in MOVIE MODE, obviously.
On the 60 position I could select by default: none(stay in 60) - 50 - 48, and on 30 position I could select the default shutter speed: none(stay in 30), 25 or 24.
Which are the most used shutter speed on cinema. Then, when I put the shutter speed on 30 or 60, I get faster the speed that I really need.

Forgive me for not understanding, I'm not exactly sure what you're asking here. You can specify 48, 24, 30, 60 in the movie settings in-camera and when switching over to video mode, it will display that framerate. Are you saying you want to see it on the top selector dial instead or the opposite?

Yes, indeed, is not clear enough. I try to explain it better: 👍

Currently, when I am in Movie mode if I set the video quality on FHD at 24P and I want film at the speed ss24, I must turn the Shutter speed dial to 30, then with the rear command dial adjust the speed until ss24. It's a lot of gestures for a so simple thing.
What I would like is that in video mode (only), when I set the Shutter speed dial to 30, it go automatic on 24 and not 30. Then in video mode, the 30 is setted on 24 or whatever I want, e.g: 25, or 30. Idem for the 60 position, I would like to have the possibility to set it on 50, or 48 by default.
For this, is necessary to add in the menu on the Movie setting a new string where I can set what is my favourite speed for the 30 or the 60 position on the Shutter speed dial.

Another solution: It could be much simpler if the movie settings and a shutter degree angle setting are synchronized automatically. So that depending on which frame rate I’m shooting and it will automatically set the shutter speed to the 180° setting or anything else that I said it to. I believe the Panasonic GH series does it this way.

Is it better now? 😀

I understand now, thanks.

However, on MY XH1, I don't need to do this as the shutter speed automatically switches no matter what position the command dial is in previously. When you switch to movie mode and you have a shutter speed set at say, 1/180th of a second, does the top LCD not say 24p (or whatever you chose under 'movie settings')? Your chosen setting under 'movie settings' should override any command dial setting and display the correct framerate on the top lcd, is what I'm trying to say.

Of course, this isn't completely intuitive because you're sitting there looking at a dial that says 1/180th, but that's what you get with mechanical dials in a digital body. The only way they could synchronize it would be to add some kind of motor to the dial itself, allowing it to automatically turn to your chosen speed when you flip into video mode, I suppose.

Are you sure?
What you read on the top of LCD is only the video frame rate, not the shutter speed. It's completely different. The shutter speed is shown below, if you put 180 on the dial, the shutter speed is at 1/180th even the frame rate is at 24 or 25 or 50.

You're right, the phrasing of the question is still confusing me, lol.

So, you're right. When shooting video I usually (and probably obviously) just select my framerate in settings and then double my selected shutter speed using the T(time) selector on my wheel, then fine tune to whatever I want it to be using the command dials. It's really not that big a deal for me to take the extra few seconds to select the shutter speed, but everyone has different degrees of need in this regard, I suppose.

The issue I see with making it automatic in settings is that the amount of users with this particular need is probably very low. I'm personally all over the map in video depending on the scene in question and not always using a specific framerate AND shutter speed every single time I shoot video.

You could also use the T mode on the shutter speed dial and adjust on the fly using your command dial.

Yes sachafilms, indeed, it's faster. I never thought to use the T mode in this way. I just test it and the good thing is that it remember the last speed used.
I think it solve in great part my problem.
Thank you

Glad to hear that!
All that being said and even if I think Fuij's ergonomics are great, I would love to be able to save multiple video presets and restore them with a function button... that would be amazing!

    • Nope, still not fixed, do you have multiple autofocus lenses for it? If you do does it do the same thing for all the lenses or just one? Cause the camera throws out a lens error (the blinking red led light) but I can only try with one lens, so can't really troubleshoot more then in the video
    • Just adding for some more clarification... If, for instance, I choose a menu like the "Drive" and I choose "Continuous" and am presented with the horizontal list of values: 11, 8.0, 5.7, 5.0, 4.0, 3.0. If I use the Rear Command dial to scroll through them and say that my selection was on "11", then continuously turning the wheel to the right will just select 11, 8.0, 11, 8.0, 11, 8.0,... Also noticing that it will skip a click before it cycles back to the first value. Not that that's helpful in diagnosing anything.
    • Try a Fujifilm-recommended memory card: https://fujifilm-x.com/de-de/support/compatibility/cameras/x-t4/ If that doesn't help: go to the dealer and get the money back or buy another more reliable digital camera.
    • Hello everyone, Unfortunately this is my first post as a second day X-Pro3 user. I got it brand new yesterday. I'm using a manual M mount lens with a 3rd party mechanical-only adaptor, if that's relevant. I don't have any native X lenses. The issue I'm having is that the rear command dial will only change back and forth between 2 values and nothing else, regardless of context. This happens anywhere and any time the rear command dial functions. i.e. if it's set to shutter speed, it will only change between two values, for instance 80 and 100, regardless of whether the Shutter dial is set to a number or to "T". If set to ISO, it will only navigate between two values, for instance, 800 and 640, regardless of whether ISO is set to a number, A, or C. Etc for anything it is assigned to. If you press the wheel button in the EVF and get the focus magnifier aid to pop up, it will only scroll between 2 magnification values (are there only 2?). If you use it during playback it will also only switch between the "normal" image and the first notch of magnification: you can see a little "screen" graphic with a scroll bar appear above that and it will only scroll between the original image and the first value of the scroll bar. If I assign the front command dial to any of the assignable values: SS, ISO, etc it works fine. So this is not user error in these cases. I've  looked at every page/post on the internet that I could find that remotely resembles this issue and none are the same as what I'm seeing. I've reset the camera multiple times and updated to the latest firmware (from 1.23 to 1.31). Nothing has worked. I'm guessing it's broken unless this is something really simple I'm over looking. I'll be calling the shop tomorrow but  this was their last one and these are now impossible to get in NZ. So it's not looking good if this has to (ridiculously) go through a warrantly repair. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I hope this turns out to be nothing! Thanks.
    • Hello, I have the XT4 since Thursday, May 19, 2022 and the camera started to freeze on Tuesday, May 24 and again the next day. I have to remove the battery to turn it off, because no key reacts, not even the ON/OFF key, the screen always remains frozen.  I have the latest update, the bluetooth is not associated with my smartphone, I have no Flash whatsoever connected with. just the Fuji 18-55mm lens. Where does this problem come from? If you have ever heard of it, any solutions? thank you very much
