Open Topic. Let us combat the global warming. This one seems fit for a PF2019 greeting. PF2019 everyone !

The distant high peak is Monte Antelao (3264m), further to the right (invisible) is Marmolada (3343m). I rather like this one. Looks like a nicely peaceful scene, but if you want to see what the

I'd like to have the same kind of winter as you are Merlin and call the green sunny view "winter landscape". 😁

Yeah, not fair, is it. Merlin is so greedy, grabs all that sunshine for himself. But mdm tell me what phase are you in right now. I remember some time ago you said that you sometimes have too much of green 😀. If you are in a green-OK phase now, I have a lots-of-green batch that I want to start extra for you after we are done with the winter theme here, which I presume will be soon. But I am away for a week so you guys have to keep it alive till I come back.

Most of the green in the landscapes is from conifers.  The deciduous trees and shrubs have not yet begun leafing out.  But we had more snow and other moisture this winter than in the past 10 years!  However, with the intense sunlight at 7000 feet of elevation it disappears fairly quickly.

That landscape was taken on equinox day, a few hours before the change of seasons.  Here's another.

jerryy started pulling my leg and sneaking pictures of old mattresses into this thread. I´d say it´s time to call it quits, what say you. It is springtime in the meantime.

Good bye, winter !

I wish I had thought of that, it would be hilarious!. (it is actually a section of cobblestone used as a parking area. Snow covered of course.)

Ahh winter, we hardly knew ye ...

Thank you, If I get the chance too pass along your kind words to the folks that do the upkeep on that old fence I shall do that. Did you leave any mountains for next season?

Please do, they are doing a great job. For summer I have got a few, for next winter I hope I will get some new ones. Cheers !

Welcome back to the fray.

These are well worth the wait!

Thank you sir, you are very kind. It is finally snowing properly today, hopefully it will be cold enough and the snow will not melt straight away.

Edit: It did melt straight away. I remember the time when we used to have real winter.

    • Fan of X-Trans since P&S days Is RGB or RGGB better mosaics than Fujifilm's GBGGRGRB? How many bits of dynamic range and how few fractions of arc-seconds of resolution are needed for the more common pixel mosaics versus the more complicated X-Trans? Moire decreases with pixel size but photopic luminance for color channels and spacial frequency still matters. Debate, now, for your favorite mosaic!
    • Did you say iPhone? Their external mics usually have 4-conductor cables, which aren't directly compatible with anything else. Try an adapter with 3 conductors.

    • Greetings, Although my friends say I take good photos with my smart phone (Samsung S9+), I have forever wanted to learn the ropes of photography and finally pulled the trigger on a camera I think I can grow with, the X-T4. I'm mostly interested in still nature shots although I do enjoy documenting the dark crevices of a city from time to time. I'm looking forward to learning how to use my camera manually and will enjoy the insights in this forum. Attached is a beach photo I took with my phone. Dale
