Show clip duration on XT3

Assuming you don't need timecode for any other purposes such as syncing audio or multiple cameras, you can use this feature to show you the clip duration as you record.

To do this, go the Menu > MOVIE SETTING (screen 4/5) > Time Code Setting,

  • turn on TIME CODE DISPLAY,
  • reset START TIME SETTING to 00:00:00:00
  • set the COUNT UP SETTING to REC RUN

Hope this helps,

I have been using that workaround in critical situations but it's not practical since, on any given day, I need to shoot 50+ separate clips, and having to reset the TC every time is a pain in the royal neck.

Sometimes you wonder what gives...such an amazing camera, the XT-3, without a basic feature you'll find in any nondescript toy camera capable of shooting video of sorts. Guess will just have to live with it, until someone at Fuji also believes it's a good idea to provide users with the actual clip duration while recording.

Happy filming!
