Your least used Fuji features

Yup. The Advanced Filters are actually embarrassing. I'd rather have:

  1. More Custom memory banks for shooting profiles.
  2. Ability name Custom profiles.
  3. More Manual (M-Mount) lens settings.
  4. Ability to change all m-mount lens data not just two.
  5. In AF+MF the magnified view should time-out after a few seconds and the camera should return to full view.
  6. More B&W filters in film simulation.
  7. Ability to set/manipulate White Balance in B&W

I don't think I could name a 'least' used feature given 95% of the options I never touch at all. Sort of like asking which Pope was the most religious.

There are a few things I'd like to see thrown out, though, including-but-not-limited-to:

  • Advanced filters
  • Wi-fi (at least as long as it's as poorly implemented as it currently is)
  • Video
  • Different beeps/fake shutter sounds
  • Built-in/pop-up flash
  • Not so much a feature, but the memory card and battery being put in the same place is an awful felony of design

Fully agree.

Implementation of Panorama mode is not really user friendly, could be discarded.

8. Auto ISO fully customizable: min & max of both ISO and shutter speed.

9. New "view mode": EVF (OC sensor) + Play mode on LCD (XE-2 user)

I use wifi a lot. I use an instax printer with it mostly and also use it via the app which I've had zero problems with. I love giving out printed shots to people I shoot. It's such a great ice breaker. But I can only speak for the X-T1 and how I use it.

I also have shot a couple hundred videos with the X-T1. I have been pressing for better video but I will say this...if Fuji can't get video right in new product testing then I want it to go away. I could use the button for something else or remove it altogether and cut down on costs which lowers the price for consumers.

Do you read that loud and clear Fuji? If you can't get it right, then just remove it.

never touched the video red button and for now never used advanced filters, but maybe someday...

the wi-fi instead is very useful for remote control, especially if used with the fuji app

wish it have also the option to shoot in bulb mode

Wifi has revolutionised my weddings. At the end of the day I export 30-40 images to my iPhone, do a quick edit if required, and print on the SP-1 or the impossible project instant lab. I put these in a 6x4 wooden box, tie with a ribbon and present it to the bridal couple as I leave the wedding. It absolutely floors them.

Least used features?

- everything movie

- everything flash (using manual flash only)

- every advanced filter

- custom modes

- jpg settings (including jpg profiles)

- bracketing

- panorama

- double exposure

- every other image format other than 3:2 (I crop in post, if at all)

- "A" on aperture dials

- white balance setting in camera

- every option about adapted lenses

- face and eye detection

- IS mode (i don't own any lens with OIS)

Basically a lot and tells a few things about my photography style... but I could live without any of these features anytime.

I just wanted to say how cool it is that you do this! Very nice!

Movie mode- pointless for me.

Panoramic mode - it would be better if I could turn my camera from landscape position to portrait position - then it would be much more usable, but not as it is.

Then it becomes easier to mention what I do use I do use:

Aparture Ring, Shutter Dial, Q Button, Focus Selection, Horizon Level  Indicator, Frame Grid (9 Square), Histogram, Flash an Cable Release!

Everything else becomes null and void.

I'm a simple lad at heart :-)

You can put it in portrait, can't you? At least I can on my X-T1. You press the right arrow key and can change the direction of the sweep (which also changes from portrait to landscape depending on how you hold the camera).

I find the stitching to often be flawed though.

OK, think I'll have to have a look at the serious users manual gained from online, as opposed to the silly thing they include in the box. Thanks for the heads up

Re Movie Mode: Make the movie mode usable. The recording button is impossible to use.

If only it was just the button... You still have to dive into the menu to do anything worthwhile... Really, it's a lot more time saving to just pack a handycam with you when you need to film. At least, that's my alternative to Fuji's film mode...

Least used features are probably those I don't even know of.

Other than that: I shoot raw, so all JPEG features are usually unused by me. Thinking about changing that, though.
