Capture One Pro + GFX 50S tethering

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I downloaded the new version of Capture One 11.3, which supports tether shooting on GFX cameras, but I'm having some trouble getting things to work properly.

When I connect up the GFX 50S to my MacBook Pro the software sees the camera and lets me trigger it remotely. But the RAW image that's transferred over only shows up as a VERY low res preview. The rest of the image is missing. The files have transferred, because I can see them on Finder and open them through Lightroom/Photoshop. Whatsmore, I can shoot Raw files to card and open them in Capture One 11.3 OK.

Anyone else had any problems?

Ian

Yes, I'm also having problems, but they seem more fundamental than yours! I'm using the full version of Capture One Pro 11.3. The GFX 50S is not recognised at all when I try to tether it. It is connected to the computer (MacBook Pro) properly, as it shows up in Fujifilm X Acquire - which also means it's not the cable causing the problem. My PhaseOne connects normally, but C1 thinks the GFX 50S isn't there. I've tried all the different settings in the connection menu on the camera, and it makes no difference. The Fuji raw files are recognised when imported - it's just the tethering that isn't working.

Any thoughts/experiences would be very welcome.

Bruce -

Just off top of my head, try quitting Fuji Aquire. It might be hijacking the cameras connection to your MBP.

Strangely, after speaking with CO support, mine started working perfectly without me changing anything. Not sure why so I don’t have full confidence in the set up yet. But quality of Raw conversions in clearly superior to ACR.

Let me know how you get on?

This is the equivalent of 43 minutes, 40 seconds of exposure. NGC 1502 is a neat little cluster located in the Camelopardalis Constellation. This region of space was thought to be fairly empty by early astronomers, but as you can see, there is a lot there. Kemble's Cascade (a.k.a. Kemble 1) is named for Father Lucian Kemble, a Canadian Franciscan friar who wrote about it to Walter Scott Houston, an author for the Sky And Telescope magazine. Houston named the asterism for Fr. Kemble and the name "stuck". NGC 1501 is the Oyster Nebula. A longer focal length telescope is needed to bring this one into good viewing, but it is well worth the effort. • Looking for input; there are some decent deals and might want to take advantage to expand my lenses for my 100s already own: 110/2 32-64 35-70 100-200 + TC   Shooting mostly family shots, bringing my kit to capture family outings indoors and out. Tracking the 63/43 effective FLs on the two, but has anybody used both? Would the 55 (covered by two zooms right now) be redundant? Would the 80 be too similar in character to my 110 for portraiture?
    • See what I mean? Two instantaneous ads. Worthless.
    • What's the deal Fuji X Forum? I'm noticing there are seldom replies to any topics - except for advertisements posted as replies. Really lame. Anyone else noticing the only reply they receive to a question is an advert?  🤠 fotomatt in Colorado
