I recently purchased a new Fuji X100F.  It seemed to be working fine with no exposure issues up until one month ago.  When I hold up the camera to shoot, the LCD shows a scene perfectly exposed.  When I press the shutter down halfway the LCD is sometimes 1-3 stops either underexposed or overexposed, not even close.  I have had to use exposure compensation in order to get a properly exposed picture.  I know the camera very well and have read the manual several times to look for a clue as to a setting that may be out of whack.  I have tried all the different exposure modes.  I know these cameras have had exposure issues in the past.  Any ideas?  I tried resetting all the settings.  Should I look for a factory firmware update?

Thanks!!!

Matt

It sounds like the sticky aperture blade problem that affected some of the earlier X100 models. There are several YouTube videos, for example

and also other discussion online, if you Google "Fuji X100 sticky aperture blade problem". If this is the answer, your camera would have to go back to Fuji for repair (but I think it's a fairly simple repair). Good luck!
