I have a focus problem with my XF 10-24mm lens.
If I manually focus, using the hyper-focal distance, at 10mm and f11, the resulting image is only sharp in the centre. If I set the focus close to infinity, the whole image is sharp. In both cases the distance indicator shows front to back sharpness. I have to focus very carefully to get a sharp result. This is my second lens which is better than the first one I had but at 10mm I should be able to get a sharp result no matter what distance is selected.
Has anyone the same problems?
This is the scene on Memorial Day 2020.
Masks, quiet, birds singing....
Few people on what is ordinarily a day mobbed with tourists and locals taking to our great park. With music, vendors, artists, bikers, joggers, horses & buggies, and a pond filled with rowboats. Now: this.
This image with X-T2, 18-55mm Fuji Lens, Acros-R film emulation.
I’m looking for a quality software program that’s Mac compatible. I understand Adobe can do HDR And I do have PS elementals 2020 but I understand I need their cloud rental software to do HDR.
I’ve been using Skylum’s Aurora HDR and its been ok but I’ve had loading issues that they were no help with and I’ve realized Skylum isn’t so much a quality photo software solution as it is a marketing company. After buying Aurora HDR twice, Luminar twice and their miscellaneous “Deals”, I’m done and want to move away from their yearly game.
any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Hello there! I am new to this forum and a proud owner of an X-T2.
Last night I wished to try interval timer shooting to stack some star tracks, so I programmed my gear for 545 1-second exposures each separated by 10 seconds, at ISO 1000. OIS was off, AF was set to manual with focus set at infinity and aperture also set to manual, at the widest setting for the lens. The body firmware version is 4.30 and the battery was fully charged.
When the shooting was over, I was disappointed to see that only 292 exposures had been taken instead of the 545 I had keyed in.
It is easy to think a certain camera, like X-T4, has lot of problems when reading a forum like this on the X-T4. I'm sure there are many happy X-T4 owners out there but it is a fact that it is several people now including me that has real strange problems with this camera.
Maybe it is related to later production units since mine is brand new? It is not uncommon when a product is very popular (and I believe this X-T4 is) that as demand rise the quality may go down. I do not say that is a fact i
@mawz, why would the FD lenses not be versatile? I've seen them [and the older FL] adapted all the time. I do understand the impulse to go with a mount that makes focus and possibly aperture easier (EF), however... but that may be contrary to @thl70's original desire to experiment with vintage manual lenses.
