Thanks, I've been lucky last few weeks ☺️ sometimes you see great skies for days, sometimes it's months without anything useful. Missed a great one yesterday, still kicking myself

Very nice! Is that the fisheye? And nice plane, is that a 787? Those windows looks very clear. Those in the 330 suck big time :-) way too many lines and spots for wide shots.

Thanks, indeed I found to be using my new Samyang 12mm almost exclusively in the cockpit, such a fantastic lens!

This is the 787, windows are huge, but it comes with a drawback - they are all slightly curved which creates unwanted picture deformation very often.

Fly safe!

Amazing photos Tom! I just came across this article (the cockpit) and this article (the views) of another pilot making photographs from his office and thought of your photos ;-) might be some cool inspiration. Most are wide-angle, small aperture, longer exposure.

Yes, I know him. Very talented guy and he has the best office. A nice big stable 747 with clear windshields. I only wish Airbus windows were as clean and artifact free :-) He has a book that is doing quite well, worth checking out.

Monrovia, Liberia.

A several dozen mile long squall line coming in from the south while on approach into Monrovia, Liberia. The fast moving cloud cover combined with an African sunset makes for some epic views. Too bad a plane can't hover in place so we could enjoy the view a bit longer...

Hi Tom,

I enjoyed your series very much. Thank you for sharing. Please keep posting.

I did a dream to become a pilot when I was a kid. That dream didn't come true since I'm taking over my family business. I travel from US to HongKong/China 5-6 times a year and I always enjoy those early landings.

Best,

    • Does focus appear to have been achieved?  If focus is struggling to lock and you have "focus" priority set instead of "release" priority, then the camera will wait on the AF.
    • Hi everyone, thanks for all the valuable input. I have contacted Fuji support and hopefully will be doing some tests with them this week to figure out if there's something wrong with the lens or not. Will post an update if they manage to get the same lens as a sample to use this week!
    • Thanks for your contribution toward helping the OP figure out his problem.  Maybe he wasn't an entire football field away from his subjects.  It doesn't look like it unless he did some very extensive cropping.  Regardless, most consumer zooms that cover that large a focal length range generally aren't their sharpest when shot wide open, and it looks like he was probably either wide open or close to wide open on those shots.
    • We have just received additional specs about the Fujifilm X-T4 (thanks a lot for your help!). X-T4 rear screen 1.62m dots [X-T3 has 1.04m dots] IBIS is great. NP-W325 battery rated at 2200mAh 16Wh Classic Negative and Bleach Bypass film… The post EXCLUSIVE: Fujifilm X-T4 Coming with New Bleach Bypass Film Simulation, 15 fps CH, 1.62m dots Screen and More Specs Leaked appeared first on Fuji Rumors. • Hello guys, I'm very excited to receive my pre-ordered X100V (placed with my local store), but does anyone has experience which vendor usually delivers pre-orders first? Amazon, BH, or others? I'm a little impatient lol. I speculate the difference in delivery time will not be more than a week unless Fujifilm USA prioritizes some vendors over the others.
