Fuji GF 120mm F4 Sings

Hello,

I've just received a brand new GF 120mm F4 OIS and wonder if any owners of same have encountered the following"

Set the GFX 50s to manual focus, turn off OIS on the lens and you can still hear the lens motor chirping or singing intermittently, as if it is hunting for something.  Is this normal?  The OIS switch appears to work in terms of activating and defeating actual image stabilization, but turning it off seems to have no effect on the sound? Clearly, some motorized aspect of the lens remains active at all times, but for what purpose?

This is a reply to my own post:

Fujifilm was kind enough to reply to my email, and apparently the noise is normal.  The linear focus motors remain active in all states, and that includes when the camera is set to manual focus.

I might add that the 120mm OIS is incredibly sharp.  The OIS is the best that I have encountered, and I have been able to capture handheld images at a 30th of second that remain sharp.  Totally amazing.

I was thinking the same about the 110mm lens I just got with regard to sharpness. What about battery life? When I switch off, there is still info shown on the secondary top LCD. I wonder what sort of drain that has on the battery?

My understanding is that the LCD on the top plate is E-Ink and uses very little energy.
