X-T1 FW 4.0 BETA: I have it and share my findings soon ;)

Recommended Posts

My findings:

Tested with 35mm 1.4 @ 1.4

AFC works! It never worked for me before the update. Even for relatively static subjects. But now its great! Way more accurate. I can finally use AFC.

Eye detection didn't work so well. But my lounge is dimly lit so that could be why.

Overall it seems faster! I took a whole bunch of pics and they seemed to write to the card faster?? Usually my camera would blink for ages if I did that. Also reviewing pictures seems to be a bit faster.

The new zone af feature is nifty. Works well. I prefer the accuracy of the single af point though.

Overall awesome update. More testing for me now.

Sorry, I had to delete this link - for several reasons:

  • We don't know this software - can be a virus too
  • If it's Fuji firmware, we don't know what status it has (final / beta / alpha)
  • Depending on the status a buggy firmware can harm your hardware too

Having said this: If you want to take this risk, feel free to go to the Fujistas

Sorry to be a spoil-sport - but your security is important to us...

It would be the best to wait for more testers, the official release is very near. I will see what Patrick will find out, before I try this. But I think that when the official fw comes it can be installed - the fw from this link looks exact like the last official one, and is also named FWUP0005.

Actually I downloaded it from Fujistas also, if anybody doubted, I've just pasted the link I found there.
