I bought my XF100-400 four years ago when I lived by the Ocean and I thought I'd shoot birds and whales every day. Fast forward to 2025 and, looking back, I think I used my super zoom 90% of the time at events, reaching for the stage from the back of the hall, and usually staying very close to the 100mm end and still cranking way up the ISO.

As much as it pains me to give up on the extra reach for the occasional wildlife, I am really lured by that F2.8... especially now that I got a X-H2 with increased cropping power.

Thoughts? Also, do you think such a trade is credible? They have roughly the same value on KEH but I don't know if anyone with the 50-150 might want the 100-400...

The 50-140 2.8 is a great lens. I mainly use mine for rugby on the shorter range shots on an xh2s and it works well. It is also handy for event work from a distance.
