I have been working with my XT-5 and a Vello Freewave wireless remote control for a few months now and recently the shutter has stopped working properly. On the camera, the shutter has been functioning as a half-press for autofocus but not registering as a full press. I have tested the Vello remote with other cameras including an XT-4 from a friend and it worked perfectly fine. Is there a setting I might have changed at some point? A coworker asked to try the camera for a few minutes and might have changed a setting I didn't know about and around then is when the remote stopped working properly.

I'd be checking you have the latest firmware for the camera body, and latest software/firmware for the remote control.

Check that wireless/bluetooth is enabled on the camera body.

Check that the two items are connected by wireless/bluetooth.

Work through these basic troubleshooting steps first.

I had this problem a year or so back, and ultimately the camera went back to Fuji for a repair.

Interestingly, the problem has resurfaced. So I guess its going back again!

Love the X-T5, but this problem is a little annoying.
