distorted church with 30mm. ts on gfx100ii

Ive been experimenting with the 30mm ts and I'm getting nice verticals but the top of this church looks elongated (look at the turrets especially)..... Id appreciate any comments on what mistake(s) I'm making

this is as it looked out of camera with the camera level and the shift lens shifted only to include the top of the church, i dibnt do any software coirrection at all apart from colour and crop.

It's the edge distortion you get with wide angle lenses, the edges on all sides show this if you have things close to the edges. Things appear stretched/distorted when they are close to the edges of the frame.

Shouldn‘t there be an in camera correction for the lens to compensate this effect? Maybe it must be turned on or the camera doesn‘t recognize this lens.

No, it's inherent in rectilinear wide angle lenses. If you photographed a row of people across the frame, the ones towards the edges would like wider/fatter than those at the centre of the frame.

I‘m aware of this. I‘m used to X-Cameras like the X-T2. When I‘m using a Fuji wide angle lens the camera compensates most of the edge distortion (if the lens is known to the camera, new lens profiles are included in firmware updates).
