off camera flash with Flashpoint R2 Nano and Zoom Li-on Mini

I'm new to off-camera flash, and recently got a Flashpoint R2 Nano F transmitter and a Zoom Li-on Mini flash from Adorama. Using the Zoom flash on my X-T3 is fine, but I can't get the Nano mounted on the camera shot shoe to control the off-camera Zoom.  The wireless communication seems to be a problem. I've updated the firmware on both units (at least I think I have, it's hard to find the current versions online) and am asking Adorama for help with this. In the meanwhile I thought I'd see if anyone has had success or problems with these units. For the record, the flash has firmware version 1.0 (U-1.0), and the Nano has v1.10.
