Battery indicator inaccurate when using Booster Grip

I’ve noticed an error while using the Vertical Booster grip with my X-T2 in which the batter indicator icons will show the two batteries in the grip as empty with a red icon when I know that they are full.

If I turn off the camera and remove the battery tray and reinsert, then when I turn the camera back on it shows the batteries as being full, but only for a short time before it shows them empty again.

This happened once in awhile when I first got the X-T2, but seems more frequent after the ver 2.00 firmware update.

Anyone else experiencing this? Would a reset of the camera to factory settings help?

The power indicator is inaccurate when i use the power boost grip.It shows that both batteries are fully discharged .I close the camera ,i take out the bar with the two batteries ,place it again and then it shows them fully charged.Really weird and can't understand why they didn't fix it with a firmware update.

Ejecting the tray with the two batteries does fix the issue, but only temporarily. After awhile using the camera, the icons eventually will turn red.

It seems the batteries last just fine, but the display just doesn't reflect the actual charge level. I've also found that it happens much more frequently when shooting video.

That's true .Last time i noticed ,i've placed the original new battery on the camera ,the original battery of my x-t1 and a third party on the grip . For sure this happened a lot of times ,i can't recall if it didn't happen using only the 3 new batteries (np-w126s).

Affected people should try getting in and really cleaning the contacts well, on the bottom of the camera, the pins on the grip, and the contacts inside the grip where they touch the batteries, just to be sure there's not a communication error between the batteries and the camera. I had a bent pin on my X-T1 grip that made everything all screwy, so it could be something similar in this case?

Hi,

I had the same problem with my VBP-XT2. After a while of shooting, the battery indicator would show low charge on the batteries in the vertical battery grip. The only way to return to normal operation was to take the VBP away and reconnect it. But the problem was not solved for a long time. So, I sent it to Fuji under guarantee and they sent me a new one. I guess this is a problem with the first generation or batch of VBP. I also have problems with my XT-2, and my XF 100-400. All first-batch problems, according to my anslysis.
