Compatible off camera flash and trigger for the GFX 50S

Recommended Posts

Can anyone advise the optimum off-camera flash and triggers that will work with the GFX 50s. I have a Yongnou YN560 TX trigger that will fire an off camera YN 560 speedlight but the speedlight will not work directly on the camera.

Any advice or suggestions welcome. Views also welcome on the EF-X500 - will it work and can it trigger the Yongnous in controller mode?

Thanks and Regards

David

David,

I have tried the Cactus system and their flash-gun does work on the X-T2 and GFX 50S directly on camera as well as remotely. So I talk here of the Cactus V6 II trigger and receivers and the Cactus RF60X flash units. All are easily upgraded by firmware

and I am v. happy with them. However, the gun is larger than I am used to, and the system when used remotely takes 12 'AA' batteries! Not used to that either. However they do what they promise and in all probability would trigger your YN 560 also.

Godox works well for me.

I see now no way to update firmware on a Mac without resort to installing windows on the Mac, so won't be buying Godox.

Well I had a demo today and the Godox AD 200 really is superb and I have no cables to trip over. They work in my studio and outside just as well. So yes Godox are working for me too with the X1T-F trigger of course.

Very nice system. Somehow I will just have to visit the shop and get them to update the firmware, instead of having any 'windows' on my Mac.

Profoto will be releasing an A1 flash, which is compatible with Fuji, in 2018.

This is the equivalent of 43 minutes, 40 seconds of exposure. NGC 1502 is a neat little cluster located in the Camelopardalis Constellation. This region of space was thought to be fairly empty by early astronomers, but as you can see, there is a lot there. Kemble's Cascade (a.k.a. Kemble 1) is named for Father Lucian Kemble, a Canadian Franciscan friar who wrote about it to Walter Scott Houston, an author for the Sky And Telescope magazine. Houston named the asterism for Fr. Kemble and the name "stuck". NGC 1501 is the Oyster Nebula. A longer focal length telescope is needed to bring this one into good viewing range, but it is well worth the effort. • Looking for input; there are some decent deals and might want to take advantage to expand my lenses for my 100s already own: 110/2 32-64 35-70 100-200 + TC   Shooting mostly family shots, bringing my kit to capture family outings indoors and out. Tracking the 63/43 effective FLs on the two, but has anybody used both? Would the 55 (covered by two zooms right now) be redundant? Would the 80 be too similar in character to my 110 for portraiture?
