Used both the Nisi and Hoage all in one type hood/filters with my X100V without any issues. Kept both when I sold my X100v after my X100Vi arrived.  Both seemed fine until I needed to do some shots at the minimum focus distance. Both filters produced the Focus Error and so I tried the same shot without a filter and also using Hoage filter adaptor and fujifilm uv filter without any issue.  I’m wondering if the extra thread on the camera lens is to give more space for filter adaptors and filters and if the lens extends slightly further when at min focus distance than the V lens did? So this is just a FYI for anyone with these filters on the Vi. Has anyone else experienced any issues? I’m pretty sure it’s not the camera as I can’t replicate the error without a filter or with a filter adaptor and separate filter.

Do you mean that the camera reports a focus error or that it misfocusses? I have the the Haoge LUV-X54B and haven't had error messages - it also appears to focus properly up close - although I haven't specifically measured the shortest distance.

It shows a focus error and locks up until switched off and on again.  Only happens during or immediately after close focusing and in particular when using optical viewfinder if that helps. But crucially it doesn’t report an error if no hood / filter attached. I have tried with Fuji and Hoage filter adaptors plus a uv and it’s fine. Only does it with the Hoage and Nisi all in one models

I get the error as well with the Nisi all in one kit on my x100vi. It’s because the lens touches the built in UV filter when focusing at minimum distance. I love the kit, but it’s disappointing because it was quite expensive and I don’t want to use it and damage the camera

Hi. Sorry to hear you have the same issue. But also good to know it’s not just me as many have suggested! There is definitely an issue with Nisi. I just ordered and received the Nisi square hood and filter adaptor which they have updated their website to say is compatible BUT it’s not! I have now been asked by them to submit video of the error to their WhatsApp customer service number and they are looking into it. If you have WhatsApp and want to do the same so they might actually realise there is a problem their customer service team are on +44 7723 860624 (WhatsApp).  Here’s a photo showing their filter thread v other companies filter adaptor. Nisi on the left. Clearly not enough room for the lens to move

Please checkout the videos on this link.  This is testing the NiSi UV with lens hood and UV from that kit at and below minimum focus. You can see there is no lens errors.

Well I have a video I have taken that completely proves there's a problem! Filter is absolutely NOT right and the lens hits it. It's not anecdotal - it's absolute fact. Happens several times, it's repeatable and a fault of the product.
