Hi,

I have a question regarding the use of the 2 card slots. If the slots are assigned as backup, so that images are recorded on both cards

(CFexpress and SD). The cards will most likely have different capacities, the cfexpress having larger capacity than the SD. What happens when

the SD card is full, but the cfexpress is only partially filled ?

Can the SD card be replaced with another SD card, and shooting continue.

Does anybody know ? many thanks for any replies,

Robert

So does the CF Express take the initial data from the camera and then later on the SD card catches up? I've been using CF Express only but it's a pain in the butt to use a card reader all the time. I'd rather just use a secondary SD card for compatibility issues, but would my buffer rate be effected?

Are you writing in backup or sequential mode?

If you are writing in sequential mode then its going to write first to the primary card and then switch to the secondary card. The speed of writing from the buffer to the card would be slower when the primary card is full.

If you are writing in backup mode then things will slow down if you are shooting bursts AND the bursts fill the buffer - at that point write will be at the speed of the slower card.

Backup mode. What a silly idea to put two card slots in the camera but you can't backup unless you're willing to sacrifice speed. i know Fujifilm isn't the only company that does it but it's a poor design choice.I was hoping it would zip to the CF Express and then copy over at a slightly slower rate to the SD Card

But thanks for the reply. It's good to know.
