Hello all,

I'm Sam, I'm 41 and live in Brighton, UK. I've been shooting SLR film since 1995, digital since 2002 and moved from Nikon, to Canon and then to Fujifilm in 2018. I've enjoyed using an X-T1, X-T4, X100V but I am now only using an X-T5, mainly with the 33mm and 23mm fuji primes. My wife uses the camera for professional video work too (with a zoom), so we're fairly well-versed in the camera. I'm mainly a casual photographer: family, friends, everyday life, travel etc.. but I have on occasion put my hand to some more focused projects and I'm mainly interested in documentary work.

Cheers,

Sam

    • I have an XT30 and it suits my needs as an all around performer, compact, but not so small that it gets lost in your hand, plus it has good image quality. Downside, if video is important is that it is recommended that clips be limited to 10 minutes in length, due to the camera overheating. Another consideration might be that if image stabilization is important to you, the XT30/XT30ii relied on OIS in the lens and the current kit lens the 16-50 zoom does not have OIS, but there are lots of the older 18-55's out there that has it.  Have fun!
    • For photography, a camera with a viewfinder would be more functional in my opinion. The X-M5 is more aimed at video people. If you like the smaller form factor and rangefinder style, look for a secondhand X-E3 or X-E4 camera.
    • Apologies if this is a very basic question. I'm trying to assist a family member with something & having read the manual for the x-s10 & searched online I'm none the wiser. Can someone let me know if it is possible to have a live feed of the x-s 10 on an external screen (for example, a macbook)? or is connecting via the usb or hdmi only for transfer of photos etc.  Thanks.
    • I currently own the XH2s and am considering purchasing and XH2.  Is there an easy way to copy the basic settings from the XH2s to the XH2 or do I have to do this all manually? Thanks for any feedback.
    • Has anyone taken their XH2s or XH2 on Photo-Safari?  How did it go and what lenses did you find the most useful?  Can you post some photos from your trip? Wondering about using my Fuji cameras on a Safari to Africa in September or should I consider one of the Sony cameras?  Would like to hear from others who have used Fuji.  Wondering how valuable the extra reach and lightness of the kit is to the experience is.  Also wondering the quality of the final result (which is the entire point anyway) Thanks
