Hello everyone,

First time poster, long time reader.

I use the EVF on my x-e1 90% of the time and all of a sudden, without a warning, the evf just dies.

I can toggle through the (evf - eye sensor - lcd) modes, but when I get to the EVF part of it, I just get a blank EVF.

Does anyone know if this can be fixed without it being sent in for repairs?  A setting I may have overlooked?  Perhaps a magical re-boot sequence?  A secret hand shake?

What ever.  I'll try anything.  ***ALMOST anything for you wise guys out there!***

Thanks for any info.

This happened to my X-E2 but I presumed it was due to it tumbling down the steps of a church. Be interested to hear what others think also.

I've read somewhere of an X-T1 having this same issue with the EVF.  When sent into Fujifilm for warranty repairs they said it was a loose ribbon cable.

Perhaps with their aging cameras being out a few years, we are now seeing these issues starting to pop up.  I really hope it's not a design flaw or a weakness in their manufacturing process.  Because I'm really liking this brand..

Should I be babying my own X-T1?

AS far as the tear down goes, I didn't set any pics so simply remove the rubber from the grip - it's just stuck on so peal it away carefully - then the tolex from the front left and right & then the tolex from the back. After that remove the screws from the base plate and both sides of the camera. Remember to map the screws out as you go tis there are a few different sizes. The back cover removes and their are two ribbon cables. One for the buttons and the other for the screen. The screen can be removed from the back cover. After that things are straight forward to strip the insides, just give your self the long afternoon to do it.

I have difficulty in viewing scenes with my XT-3 through both the LCD and EVF when the sun is very bright sun - the scene appears dark.
The relevant parameters that I am using are as follows:
EVF brightness: -1, LCD brightness: +3, Natural live view: off (I want a natural view of how the scene looks).
In searching for information regarding this matter, I see that some people recommended not using the auto feature, and used negative values for EVF brightness and positive values for LCD brightness; however, this does not seem to help much in very sunny situations. When the scene is not particularly sunny, I see through both the EVF and LCD fine. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

      I am using a X-E1 camera with a vintage Canon FD 50mm F1.8 lens.
When I take an image the result is always soft, even though the viewfinder or screen show a very sharp image, however as soon as I press the shutter pre-view the image is soft, and when I take the photograph, the result is soft - like it is very slightly out of focus. I have used this with focus peaking and everything looks sharp. Am I correct in assuming that images seen on the screen when focusing is via the lens? is it the lens? or my setting or my manual focusing ability. some help will be useful, TIA.

I have a 2 year old X100F that has a problem with the aperture blades being stuck. It appears to be suck at about f2.8-4.  I bought the camera new in the US about 2 years ago, I currently live in Asia and need advice on having it repaired. I contacted the place of purchase but they can't help because its beyond warranty. I contacted the Fujifilm repair USA office but they told me to contact the Fujifilm Malaysia office. Fuji Malaysia said the US office is wrong that I should contact an office closer to my area. They did however suggest resetting the camera preferences but this was no help. My last resort is to contact the Fujifilm Japan office but it is  closed indefinitely due to quarantine. So my only solution may be to try and fix it myself.
Has anyone here experienced their aperture blades stuck in their X100F? Has anyone been able to take the camera apart and fix it themselves? I'm extremely disappointed with Fuji and that this happened in less than 2 years of owning this camera and now no reasonable solution to fix it. I've also read that the repair for this problem is quite expensive.
It would be nice to know if anyone has had similar issues and any luck with repairs. Until now I loved Fuji and this camera however I can't be more disappointed.

      Hi all,
I'm messing around with the different options for the view mode (via the viewmode button), but I can't get the setup I want: basically, I want to keep the rear LCD off at all times except when I press the play, menu, or Q button.  Is this possible?  Is there a custom setting somewhere I'm not toggling correctly?
      Thanks for suggestions!

I recently got an XT20 with the 18-55 kit lens. Today I was trying it out at home, when I found out that when I try to zoom quickly in or out in manual mode, I see a horizontal light appear for a fraction of a second on the EVF. I cannot see this happening on the LCD. This happens only in manual mode, and not auto. This does not happen when recording a video. I am using mechanical shutter. But I don't think this is a shutter issue as I see this white line for a second when zooming quickly. Also I don't see it when I see EVF auto brightness from Auto to manual. The firmware is updated. Also tried zooming outside, I don't see that issue.
The issue is as described here by another user:
