Problems with live view - to dark when shooting in high shutterspeed

I have a question about my live view. When I take pictures of kids for instance with my studioset I like to set my settings to F9 - 1/125. When I do this I can't see my model in the viewer. Only when I press a little bit I can see them. This makes it hard to focus. Even when I put more lights on I can't see them.

With my old Nikon I could always see what I can see in my view.

Can I change some settings so I can see more in my view with higher shutterspeed.

I hope someone can help me.

The camera can't know that you'll be using flash, so will be attempting to simulate the exposure based on the settings you've given. This can be disabled in the main menu under "Screen Settings" and "Preview Exp/WB in Manual Mode". Turn this OFF if you want to see an image in a dark studio, without previewing what the image would be (without flash).
