X100V - Disabling the joy stick/Locking the focus point

My second X100 is not as joyful an experience as my first, and for one reason: the X100V’s moveable focus point using the joystick.

I’ve watched the YouTube advice explaining how to turn the joystick off, which works immediately but which is not permanent. What am I doing wrong? Can someone tell me how to PERMANENTLY disable this annoying feature … please?

Press and hold the joystick in, this is how you can customize the different Fn buttons as well, then select 'Off'

Not sure if it's the same as my X-E3, but I had the option for "push to activate" which stopped me randomly shifting it around as I compose a photo. I saw the option in one of Maarten Heilbron's videos and immediately changed it haha
