Red artifacts/pixels in shadows when using Nostalgic Neg

Has anyone else run into this issue when using Nostalgic Neg film simulation (both in JPEG and RAW) where all the underexposed areas turn red?

Can't figure out why it's happening. It only appears on the images after the photo is taken (not visible in EVF or touch screen before taking the photo). Happens regardless of whether im on ES or MS. Only happens in underexposed areas.

I think this has been fixed with a firmware update? I noticed pal2tech mentioned it on his page.

Can confirm this issue is addressed with the latest firmware update.
