X-Pro2 MF Zoom Assist Question

Hello there!

 

I just purchased an X-Pro2 to replace my X-T1, and I've really been loving it so far.

 

That said, I wanted to see if anyone else here thinks that pressing the control dial that is just left of the AE-L button to trigger the MF zoom assist is absurdly "mushy" to rely on? After using the camera for a few weeks now, I find myself wanting to be able to re-map that button, or to be able to assign it to a different customizable button on the body.

 

It's very frustrating and slow to use!

I thought there would be at least one other supporting opinion?

 

At the least, it seems like this should be something that can be assigned to another function button?
